However, the last few days comprised rain, clouds, and hail. I was excited to have a nice sunny day and my hosts and I went North to buy trees and plants to embellish the property. We hopped in the truck, survived a long line of impatient drivers and after an hour of amazing scenery of mountains and rivers, we finally arrived in Duncan. Duncan is a cute little village and my hosts really wanted to bring me to lunch at this charming cidery called Merridale Farms. Besides being a beautiful orchard, this place is also a farm-to-table restaurant. I had the Margherita pizza, which comprised tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, bocconcini, olive oil and a balsamic reduction.
