Hall\u00f3! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started my\u00a02nd<\/sup>\u00a0week\u00a0in Iceland\u00a0by taking part in two artistic events in the\u00a0local village. I visited a\u00a0fabulous\u00a0exhibition about\u00a0Vigd\u00eds Finnbogad\u00f3ttir;\u00a0the first woman in the world to be democratically\u00a0elected\u00a0as a head of state. The gallery honoured her\u00a0career\u00a0through\u00a0amazing\u00a0vivid\u00a0painted portraits.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later,\u00a0my friends and I\u00a0went to a play performed by the inhabitants of\u00a0S\u00f3lheimar. Since it was in Icelandic, I did not understand everything, but it was still an interesting experience to be part of.\u00a0The\u00a0vibrant\u00a0costumes and the\u00a0powerful\u00a0music\u00a0brought\u00a0the play\u00a0to life\u00a0even more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of my time is dedicated to\u00a0volunteering in\u00a0a\u00a0tomato greenhouse\u00a0called Sunna.\u00a0\u00a0On a typical day, I\u00a0water the plants, I plant\u00a0young\u00a0tomato\u00a0seedlings, I harvest\u00a0ripe\u00a0fruits and\u00a0I\u00a0trim\u00a0the leaves\u00a0to help\u00a0the\u00a0plants\u00a0direct\u00a0their\u00a0energy\u00a0into\u00a0producing tomatoes.\u00a0Sometimes, we\u00a0are\u00a0supervised\u00a0by Tommy,\u00a0a very friendly\u00a0cat who likes to\u00a0sit on our laps\u00a0while\u00a0we work.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most chaotic moment of my week was\u00a0probably\u00a0our\u00a0hike\u00a0to\u00a0catch sight\u00a0of waterfalls\u00a0during\u00a0our day off.\u00a0What was\u00a0supposed\u00a0to be a\u00a0three-hour\u00a0hike\u00a0of\u00a0approximately\u00a08 km\u00a0turned into\u00a0an\u00a0eight-hour\u00a0journey\u00a0of\u00a0nearly 22\u00a0km (basically a\u00a0half marathon).\u00a0We got lost while thinking we were\u00a0heading in the right direction to\u00a0find\u00a0an amazing waterfall\u00a0spot.\u00a0Let\u2019s\u00a0just say that I\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0disappointed to\u00a0see\u00a0my bed at the end of the day. At least, we made it\u00a0back\u00a0alive!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a few days, I can\u2019t wait to discover the stunning beauty of the Reykjadalur Valley on a horseback riding tour and join our postponed golden circle excursion due to the unpredictable Icelandic weather.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
