In the morning,&nbsp;many of them take part&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;\u201cmorning circle\u201d,&nbsp;a ritual&nbsp;where they&nbsp;ask&nbsp;God&nbsp;for protection&nbsp;for the day&nbsp;through&nbsp;an&nbsp;Icelandic&nbsp;song and personal prayers. Usually they&nbsp;hold hands,&nbsp;create&nbsp;a&nbsp;human&nbsp;circle&nbsp;and&nbsp;discuss&nbsp;the&nbsp;news of the village (even&nbsp;what\u2019s&nbsp;on the cafeteria\u2019s daily&nbsp;menu).&nbsp;This encounter&nbsp;was&nbsp;also a great moment&nbsp;for me&nbsp;to share and discuss with&nbsp;Icelandic people&nbsp;and get to know&nbsp;this practice&nbsp;better.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"guten-element guten-spacer guten-gnwnme\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/bloguelangues.cecm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/song.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8737\" width=\"314\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bloguelangues.cecm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/song.png 423w, https:\/\/bloguelangues.cecm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/song-296x300.png 296w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The Icelandic song<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Later that week, I\u00a0also\u00a0toured the breathtaking\u00a0Valley\u00a0of Steam\u00a0of\u00a0Reykjadalur\u00a0on a guided horseback ride\u00a0with Paulina, a\u00a0kind-hearted\u00a0Belgian doing an internship in the same greenhouse as me.
