I can\u2019t believe my journey in Iceland is already nearing its end. I started my week by stimulating my creativity while touring the L\u00c1 <\/strong>Art Museum in Hverager\u00f0i with Joanne, a warm-hearted American, and Siyi, a wonderfully kind Chinese woman. The contrast between the stunning landscape-themed paintings of the Swiss-born artist Rebekka K\u00fchnis and the disturbing exhibition of Bernard Khoury was particularly striking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterward, we treated ourselves\u00a0to\u00a0a\u00a0sn\u00fa\u00f0ur,\u00a0a traditional\u00a0Icelandic\u00a0pastry\u00a0at\u00a0a\u00a0nearby\u00a0caf\u00e9 recommended by a friend of mine.\u00a0This sweet cinnamon flavour\u00a0combined\u00a0with the\u00a0soft\u00a0and tasty\u00a0dough of the pastry\u00a0was the\u00a0perfect ending to an\u00a0amazing day.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week\u2019s volunteering at the greenhouse was quite different. The other volunteers and I worked outside for a good amount of time. We mostly helped tidy the front yard garden of the patients at the rehabilitation and health clinic and I discovered that I enjoy working outdoors mostly due to the beautiful weather we had over the past few days. At this time of year, Iceland has over 18 hours of daylight and the sun almost never sets. It\u2019s incredible to see but bring a good sleep mask or stay somewhere with blackout curtains if you intend to visit during summer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Golden Circle tour was probably what I was most excited about this week. The otherworldly \u00deingvellir National Park, the unpredictable Strokkur geyser, and the majesty of Gullfoss waterfall left me speechless. Sharing those moments with my friends made the experience even more meaningful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my last week in Iceland, I intend to visit a lava cave, go puffin spotting and enjoy my very last moments on the land of volcanoes and glaciers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
