The Centre d’études collégiales de Montmagny (CÉCM)

The Centre d’études collégiales de Montmagny (CÉCM) is a public college that provides the first level of post-secondary education.

The college is located in Montmagny, a small town about 40 minutes from Quebec City in Canada.

The Language Program
Founded in 2009, the Montmagny Language program is a pre-university program that is designed to allow students to integrate into undergraduate university studies.
The program allows them to develop their English and Spanish abitilies, become familiar with other languages (Japanese, German, and Italian) as well as aqcuire a plethora of other skills.
Discovery and travel are at the heart of the learning process.

Enriching Educational Activities
In addition to enhancing their language skills, students learn about different cultures and customs through various activities inside and outside of the classroom, such as cultural workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and field trips.

The Immersion
As part of the program, all students must do a 6-week immersion internship in another language (English or Spanish) and culture to graduate.
To date, more than 120 students have been able to live an enriching immersion experience throughout Canada and abroad.

The Teachers
Students benefit from personalized teaching and support throughout their studies, internship preparation and during immersion.
The teachers prepare them for their internships by giving them readings and assignments on their chosen destination, organizing cultural outings as well inviting guest speakers to talk about culture shock and adapting to a new environment.
