Good Friday was a beautiful sunny day here in Victoria. However, the last few days comprised rain, clouds, and hail. I was excited to have a nice sunny day and my hosts and I went North to buy trees and plants to embellish the property. We hopped in the truck, survived a long line of impatient drivers and after an hour of amazing scenery of mountains and rivers, we finally arrived in Duncan. Duncan is a cute little village and my hosts really wanted to bring me to lunch at this charming cidery called Merridale Farms. Besides being a beautiful orchard, this place is also a farm-to-table restaurant. I had the Margherita pizza, which comprised tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, bocconcini, olive oil and a balsamic reduction. In brief, this tasty plate had everything to bring the spring vibe!

On our trip up North, we went to a tree nursery called B Dinter Nursery. We found magnolias, pines, Japanese cedars and many more. I enjoyed seeing different types and shapes of trees. It feels like spring when we go flower shopping!

After a cloudy day, Bethany brought me to a tranquil beach, where we took a walk. It was freezing cold, and I wondered how people could kitesurf, even with a wetsuit on, in that icy temperature. As if it we were not cold enough after our peaceful walk, Beth and I went for ice cream. Of course, my sweet tooth went for the Choco Brownie Extreme Blizzard. Tasteful and comforting, this ice cream was one of the best of my life!!

After a week full of discoveries, we are getting ready because on Monday, we will prepare an Easter dinner with other members of the family!
See you next Sunday!
