Entry 4: Ocean? Everyday please.

Australia, EF, English

Last weekend, I went with my friends to Stradbroke Island which is a little island 1h30 minutes away from the center of the city. On that island, we saw exotic kangaroos! They were definitely less friendly than the one that I saw on my first weekend at Lone Pine Koala, but still it was mesmerizing to see a female kangaroo with its baby! I never though that I would have been able to see them in the nature here since there are none exotic kangaroos in the city.

My friends and I were in a group with other student from the school and we decided to do an 1hour long walk around the island to get to the main beach. While we were walking, we took different path from the smaller beaches to the craters that opened to the ocean, and we saw first. the clear blue water but also multiple dauphin and sea turtles. It was not my first time seeing these sea animals, but it was mind blowing to see them so well from that altitude. After our long walk, my friends and I jumped in the ocean like we were mermaid. Little did I know that h2o, a television show about mermaid that aired when I was young was filmed in Australia.

The next day, I went with my best friends here to the Gold Coast. I always dreamed of seeing one of the most exquisite beaches in the whole world, Surfers Paradise. It was a rainy day, and we could not swim because the waves were too big, but still, I had so much fun. Today, I went back to Surfers Paradise, and it was amazing. I swam in the water and tanned with my friends! We ate at a Betty’s Burgers which is a fast-food chain like McDonald’s but ten times better because it is REAL meat. This restaurant chain only exist in Australia so am enjoying it while it last!

I also did many activities with my friends this week such as going to karaoke, going at the beach but also going to the club! I had such a great time with them. It was also my birthday weekend, and we went shopping! I bought too many clothes but hey, I am only in Australia once! I don’t know what I would do here without them 🙂

I can’t believe that I have only 2 weeks left here. I don’t want it to end. In 4 days, I will be checking another box on my wish list which is going to Sydney! I will stay in Sydney for 5 days with one of my friends! I can’t wait to tell you about my adventures!
