I have already finished my first week on the island of Malta! I am studying at Education First and discovering all the beautiful history and scenery of here. I live in San pawl il-bahar; forty minutes away from the EF school in San Giljan, so I must take the bus in the morning and in the evening. At first it was not easy to find my way around, but I’m improving. At school I have made some friends to hang out with and do some activities, like going to see Spinola Bay in San Gilgan. This first week opened my eyes to traveling alone.
This week I went to a lot of restaurants. The first was called Casa Blanca. It is a charming restaurant with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea; that serves sushi or burgers, so I took a huge truffle burger with cheese. Delicious! It’s cool because here you eat more than enough for cheap. The second was in San Giljan with my friend; a little fast food called Wolk to walk. I ate a Donburi, which is like a poke bowl. The flavour and freshness were exceptional! On Friday, I went alone to a restaurant called Nine Lives; it is on the beach of Bugibba. I watched the incredible sunset and got a drink at happy hour. I felt like a diva; I ate some fresh squid with a strawberry drink on the sand at sunset.

On Saturday, I visited the capital of Malta, Valletta; where I discovered other aspects of my personality, which made me realize what I could achieve. In Valletta, I saw and experienced new liberty; I walked around the city and between the colorful alleys. I visited historic and national sites like the St-John’s co-cathedral, the National Library and the Upper and Lower gardens. At the end of this wonderful sunny day, I stopped to eat a traditional pizza at San Paolo Naufrago, the staff there recommend the Parma pizza with fresh mozzarella, Parma ham and cherry tomatoes. A huge and tasty portion! Finally, I went to the Kamy bar, and I got a Marilyn Monroe drink; a whiskey passion fruit cocktail.

Next week it’s my birthday! I plan to visit Mdina; a fortified city in the North and go to Golden Bay to see the most beautiful sunset.
