Hi everyone! Hope you are doing as great as I am! During my first week in Cape Town, where I am studying at a language school, I had such a wonderful time. On my first day in the city, my roommate took me to see the sunset with her friend on the beach. The vibrant colours and cooling air were uplifting.

On Wednesday, I visited Stellenbosch, a smaller city located near Cape Town. The city was relaxed and welcoming. A local recommended that we visit the Stellenbosch University Garden, and so we did! The garden was gigantic and cultivated a hundred different plants, mostly indigenous, unique, and history-related. At one point in our visit, we thought we were in the jungle! Wherever we looked, colourful flowers, massive trees, and weird-looking plants surrounded us. After that afternoon adventure, we took a moment to sit down, relax, and enjoy a sweet ice cream cone under the intense sun.

On Thursday, it was the First Thursday in Cape Town. There was a huge discount in the clubs, and some DJs were performing in the streets. Everybody was dancing to the beat of African music. I went with a dozen friends, and we laughed the entire night. Everyone took care of everyone, and I have never felt that comfortable going out. Really an amazing night!

Next week, I will hike Table Mountain to see the sunset with some friends. It is a 4-hour hike that I just cannot wait to do. I will also have my first course with my new class, so I am looking forward to that. I don’t exactly have a lot of plans, but I am sure my week will be as incredible as the first one!
