Oh my goodness, it has already been a week since I am in full Aussie mode. Surprisingly, the jet lag was not as bad as I thought it would be. I woke up in the middle of the night on my first few nights but that is it. And how can I say, I got the best family that I could have gotten. My host family is so lovely, and I enjoy spending time with them and talking about the difference in Canada and Australia. There are 3 more EF students in the household, and they are all genuinely nice.
My family’s house is one hour away (with the public bus) from the school, so I need to leave early in the morning. I do not mind it because I can see the city and read my book during that time. In the afternoon I like going to street beach, where a human made blue lagoon is. It is like a false beach, and it is so fun but at the same time so relaxing. I also made a few friends along the way.
Last night, we went at Eat Street, a place where you can taste different food from all the culture you can possibly think of. It is a one-hour ferry ride from the center of the city, but it was so worth it. While you are on the ferry you can see all the building and their beautiful lights. I choose Italian because I wanted pizza, but my friends bought a Greek dish that looked so delicious too. I am definitely going back there soon.
Today, I am going to Lone Pine Koala Sanctury where we can see all the unique animals to Australia such as the koalas, the kangaroos, and others. I cannot wait to see it all!
