It’s crazy how fast the time flies by here. There is only a month left to my stay in Brizzie and I cannot believe it. One day, I will need to leave this paradise and I am not ready for it to happen. This week was my first “official” week of school with the teacher that I will have for the next month or so. Last week it was a school holiday for many students so did not met all my classmates, but this week I did! However, school was not the highlight of my week, even if it was fun making new friends. The activity that has been on my mind is when I went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctury last Sunday!
A dream of mine has always been seeing kangaroos in action. Never in million years I thought that I, Naomie Dubé, would be able not only to see about thirty kangaroos in one place but also petting them and giving them food. I was so surprised that the kangaroos were exceptionally soft not like you except them to be. Moreover, they were overly amicable, and I know that they are used to seeing human everyday, but still, I did not expect the kangaroo to be at ease with us and coming to see us.

One thing that I am proud to say is that I was able to touch a koala with my own hand. I have never felt that much softness in my life. Koalas are as soft as a new teddy bear you would buy at the store; the only difference is that the koalas are real. I really wish I could bring one back home, but sadly it is impossible for me to make that dream come true. But I will be forever grateful to have experienced something like this in my life.

I have made a couple of friends from all over the world, and I love spending time with them. Their personalities and mine are so different but so much alike too. I put all my learning skill in use here, Spanish, English, French and even a tiny bit of German. This afternoon, we had a little picnic for one of my friend’s birthday’s. It was so fun hanging out with them outside of our typical days at the beach. I was so scared to not be able to make any friends here but I did and they are the best. I cannot believe that this is my life right now.

Tomorrow, I am going to Moreton Island which is an island close to Brisbane. I will do sand surfing, snorkelling, kayaking and many other activities. Can’t wait to see and do it all.
