Time flies when you are having fun! My feet hurt from walking around Manchester so much, but it was worth it!
The first thing I did this week was go to Old Trafford Stadium on Sunday. It turned out the two rival teams of the city, Manchester United and Manchester City, were playing. The atmosphere was electrified. People were running, fighting, screaming and pushing children. Shops all around the city were closed and all the policemen in Manchester were present. I still had a fabulous time, and it was fascinating to witness such a cultural difference.

On Tuesday, I went to a Thai restaurant called Thaikhun with my new friend Dean, who was a volunteer at YHA for four days. The restaurant was lively, inviting and warm. The decor was breathtaking and showcased the culture of Thailand which included a tuk-tuk! The food was delicious! As a fan of spicy food, I was mightly surprised by the perfect spiciness of my fish cakes and my Thai fried rice. Furthermore, the dessert, a lemon tart, was mouthwatering. We left full and happy!

Finally, on Thursday, Dean and I went to the Castlefield Viaduct, an old railway converted into a beautiful garden! Sadly for us, most of the plants and flowers had not blossomed yet, but we still had a great time under the sun. The sight and smell of the few flowers were exceptional. It smelled fresh and earthy! We took a few pictures and walked along the path, before heading for a coffee in town.

I had so much fun this week and I can’t wait to write my next blog as I’m currently on a train heading to London! I plan on doing as much sightseeing as possible and visiting the places where the Harry Potter movies were filmed.
See you soon,
Cheerio!
