Entry #3: A Mix of Gratitude and Excitement

EF, English, South Africa

Hi! It’s me again! This week passed so fast. I just cannot believe I have already finished half of my internship! I mentioned last week, after the sadness of Saturday, I took some time for myself before going to my first museum. It was the Museum of Contemporary Art. The museum’s architecture was incredible, and the exhibitions were different, beautifully strange, and profound. I was able to learn not only about South Africa, but also about a lot of other African countries.

This week, the subject of our classes was art and its definition and importance to us. We had a debate on that subject (Thank you, Tabitha, for the debate project last semester!). Kristy, our teacher, decided to take us to Pottery Cafe to paint pottery on Tuesday. It was the first time for me, and I had so much fun! Everyone was too concentrated to talk, and we each made very distinct designs.

On Wednesday afternoon, I,and five other girls from school, decided to go back to Kirstenbosch Garden to explore more. I described its beauty on my first visit, but in fact, it is a splendid garden filled with gorgeous plants with vibrant colors, and every time you take a new step, a new magnificent statue appears, surrounded by stunning exotic flowers. Words are not enough to describe it.

I have a tremendous activity planned this weekend. Friday at 5 am, I will go on Safari! I am beyond excited to see the Big 5 and to tell you everything about it!
