Entry 3 – A Red-Themed Trip to London

English

Last weekend, I was in London and one of my friends from Québec, Gabrielle, decided to join me for the trip! We did more than I thought we would!

On Sunday, we rode the crowded tube to visit the places where the Harry Potter movies were filmed. Sadly, as a huge fan, I was disappointed as the places have changed a lot since the movies first came out and were unrecognizable. On the bright side, during this visit, we saw the London Eye, which was enormous and the beautiful garden of the Whitehall Place. The garden was absolutely gorgeous in the warm light of the sun. The grass was a vibrant green and the flowers were colourful. We finished the day with an awesome Italian pizza!

On Monday, we decided to go big and visit King Charles. To get to Buckingham Palace, we had the chance to walk through Hyde Park, which was full of people enjoying the sun. When we got to the palace, I was a bit underwhelmed as I had seen much bigger and prettier castles in the past two days in London. It was still gorgeous, with its beautiful gold statue and bright flowers, and I was fortunate to witness two palace guards. We finished the day by walking past the famous Big Ben, which was just grandiose, to get to the restaurant where we ate mouth-watering hamburgers!

On Tuesday, we visited the British Museum, and it was gigantic. We were only able to do the Egypt, Italy and Greece parts as I would have missed my train back to Manchester if we had stayed longer. I was thrilled to see one of their astounding libraries and the stolen artifacts. Sadly, when I came back to Manchester, I was doomed to be bedridden for the rest of the week as I had the worst cold of my life.

Next week, I plan on visiting the other stadium in Manchester, Etihad Stadium, and maybe going to a city near Manchester by train.

See you soon!
